Former Number One Terrorist Appeals

The jailed terrorist known as “Carlos the Jackal” or Illich Ramirez Sanchez, appealed to the European Court of Human Rights on Wednesday. He claims the eight years he was held in solitary confinement in a French jail violated a European human rights treaty.

This has been the only “news blurb” I’ve heard on this today. Research has proved fruitless in an attempt to garner further information regarding this appeal and the sentiments of authorities toward the appeal. I will keep you up to date, but it’s highly unlikely that Carlos will be released for any type of appeal. The man who showed no mercy has been reduced to a “convict” crying out to be heard, and grasping at straws, in a lame attempt for clemency. How does it feel Carlos? Do you cry out for the human rights, and weep nightly for the victims of your murderous terrorist attacks? I doubt it! No more cocaine, liquor and women Carlos – you pissed your miserable life away, now take your medicine like a Jackal!

Sanchez has called from his prison cell for worldwide attacks on Israel and the United States. This tragically came to pass, although not because anyone listened to him. However there is a connection between the Jackal and the Muslim terrorists. Some time ago, Carlos wrote an open letter responding to Israel’s assassination of Palestinian leader Abu Ali Mustafa, who he called a “former comrade-in-arms”, and asked for a never-ending war with no holds barred. “The killers of Abu Ali Mustafa came from Tel Aviv, the orders came from Washington,” Carlos wrote. “The Yankee should beware,” he said.

Mustafa, a founding member of the PLO and also leader of the “Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine”. He was killed in an Israeli missile attack in his office on the West Bank city of Ramallah. After Israel’s assassination of Mustafa, USA official said Israel’s killings of Palestinian leaders were inflaming the conflict. The Jackal wrote this letter in English, and it was dated the day of Mustafa’s killing and addressed to George Habash, the former head of the PFLP whom Mustafa succeeded last year. So much for your claims that Washington gave the order Carlos!

Carlos, who was held responsible for 80 killings in a terrorist campaign in the 70’s and 80’s supporting the PFLO, signed his letter using the Jackal’s two aliases – Carlos and the Arabic Salim – and with the words “Allahu Akhbar!” (God is Greater) and “Yours in Revolution”.

France snatched “Carlos” from Sudan in 1994 and he was sentenced to life behind bars in 1997, for the 1975 murder of two French secret agents. He is in solitary confinement at Sante prison in Paris. He makes occasional court appearances under heavy guard.

Illich Ramirez Sanchez sounds like a textbook sociopath with a “woody” for anything involving “revolution” (must have read two many biographies about Che Guevara) and a penchant for high profile abductions, bombings, and murders. Well, just wait for your appeal to be heard “Jackal”, because you’re going to be waiting for the rest of your life. And take comfort in knowing that you will not be missed!

Initially charged with murder, CWO Lewis Welshofer Jr. was instead, convicted of negligent homicide and negligent dereliction of duty. He was sentenced to a $6,000.00 fine in pay and restricted to his barracks and workplace for 60 days.

Chief Welshofer apparently was charged in the death of a high ranking Iraqi General. The General was placed inside a sleeping bag while Welshofer sat on his chest, periodically clamping his hand over the General’s mouth. He interrogated him while using this method, but the General died of heart problems, probably from being so scared he was finally captured. So what do the “big shots” do after this American trooper has made his best attempt to get the Iraqi to sing? They charge him with murder – carrying a life sentence – yeah you heard me. Way to back up our boys! Attacks in surrounding areas were reported to have all but ceased after the General was captured and subsequently suffered a heart attack.

It’s WAR folks, people get killed, maimed and POW’s are “roughly” treated during interrogations. The General should have spilled the beans sooner, and been treated well. Instead he kicks the bucket, and prosecutors are calling for somebody to blame – so why not Chief Warrant Officer Lewis Welshofer? No, he’s not the monster that he was alleged to be by the prosecution team, but a trained soldier, instructed in this and many more interrogation techniques, I’m sure.

Thank God that the court rallied behind Welshofer, who had many character witnesses and supporters present. His charges were reduced and he will go free. Justice was served! Now, a reviewing General will read and probably hear the case on tape. This final official has the power to reduce the sentence even further or overturn it completely, but only toward more leniency – now that “is” cool! You probably saved a lot of casualties to our troops due to this incident CWO Welshofer.

Defense Team Claims Woman Snaps

A 60 year old Missouri woman, who allegedly had suffered mental and emotional abuse, calmly got up and brought a can of gasoline over to the chair where her hubby was recovering from a knee replacement surgery. She proceeded to pour the gasoline over him and then torched him! The neighbors came over and put him out……man that had to be a tough way to go! This crazy b***h caught a 25 year jail sentence for her actions and remarked that, “nobody will miss him more than I do”. (Playing the “psychotic break” card again, yup, I’m sure you miss him very much!)

It is my opinion, which amounts to nothing in the eyes of the courts, that the taxpayers should not be saddled with the enormous expense of lodging, feeding, providing medical care, and more for this monster. Wouldn’t it be a little more cost effective to simply restrain her in a rocking chair, douse her with petrol and “fire her up” as well?

It seems the more things change the more they stay the same. Emotional abuse my arse, this woman committed murder and should be executed as soon as possible for her efforts. I guess her husband got a little “burned up”, when he found out that she felt he had been emotionally and mentally abusing her! You will not be missed you murderous old pyromaniac!

Waving a White Flag on the Barrel of his Loaded Gun!

In a taped message, believed by expert analysts to be none other than that of Osama bin Laden, there were more implied threats mixed in with an olive branch of a possible long term truce. Yeah, that sounds great since we DON’T KNOW WTF you’re talking about Osama!

He alluded to being a nation (Islam I guess?) that will not lie or be “backstabbers”, also that a long term truce would be beneficial to restoring peace and for the rebuilding of war torn Iraq and Afghanistan. He claims that this can’t ever happen because of some vague statements about “Bush and other warlords” in the USA, losing hundreds of billions of dollars (in revenue, pay offs, not sure..he didn’t explain that well?).

The taped message also mentioned that the war would not be confined to Iraq, but would be felt and seen across the globe. He alluded to the fact that they were too cunning to be detected, and successfully pulled off the bombings in Europe most recently, but promised to unleash new attacks on us as soon as the planning is complete.

I’m not sure what the he** he’s really saying except trying to alarm the US citizenry, cause us to doubt the President, make us believe we can now have a lasting peace with him, and help rebuild his favorite countries. Sounds too hard and too hot. I’m going to pass on this barn raising party! There’s no peace for you Osama, only the end of your life or imprisonment….it is inevitable! Read CNN.com’s full coverage.

Child Abduction Trade

I wanted to do a quick article on child abduction after being reminded of this horrible crime, that is running at full throttle across the globe. Looking for information was not hard. A quick search reveals that this is a major problem affecting millions of children per year. The reasons are complex and varied according to what country is reporting the news. There seems to be many uses for stolen children. Let’s take a look.

In the USA, one of the oldest and unsolved child abductions was that of Etan Patz, reported by Crime Laboratory. “Etan was stolen off SoHo’s busy streets. What actually happened to him and to where he was taken, remains a heart breaking mystery. His fate, as of this writing, is still unknown. The Etan Patz case is the oldest, open missing child case in New York City’s history and probably one of the oldest in the nation. In 2003, suspicion irrevocably settled upon convicted child molester, Jose Antonio Ramos, 60, who is incarcerated in a Pennsylvania prison. In 2002, Etan’s long suffering parents declared him legally dead and planned to sue Ramos in civil court. They did this to force him into a courtroom where they can ask Ramos under oath what happened to their son. Each year, on Etan’s birthday, his father sends a card to Ramos asking him, ‘What did you do to our son?’” Not knowing, or having closure in this kind of matter, is worse than being told outright that their child was murdered.

In Africa the story is quite different as kidnappers snatch the children and make conscripts in their various “Armies”. This is loosely defined in Africa, since the governments and various opposition forces are in constant flux and come and go like the changing of the seasons. I believe that they are mostly in war besieged countries like the Sudan, Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mozambique, Rwanda, and Somalia (among others), who specialize in butchering one another, to the point that they must steal children to bolster their waning supply of able bodied men to fight their ridiculous ongoing wars. It’s hot out – let’s have a war. It’s raining – let’s overthrow the government, have a war and so on, and on it goes in Africa, the country where rhyme and reason don’t seem to exist. Like vicious animals, these crazed factions and their armies have nothing to do or care to do, so they have wars! Also, poverty creates large demands for child labor, and profits for abductors have created a global trade in African children both inside and out the continent.

In China and Asia the practice of abduction and forced servitude are highly specialized and run the whole course from men, women, children, girls and especially “virgin girls” (sick bastards). Another big reason in China and in Mexico is trafficking in child and baby organs. I assume they are referring to harvesting organs at an exorbitant fee and selling to the high bidder. This would be carried out, organ by organ, in such away as to provide as many organs as possible to the market before the baby or child expires from loss of life. It’s do gruesome that it’s difficult to even read and research the materials. Who’s Minding the Sheep?

CNN Law Center ran a numbing story that “Bishop Thomas Gumbleton of Detroit revealed in written remarks for an appearance Wednesday that he was abused by a priest 60 years ago.” Apparently he has come forward, in an attempt to further pending legislation in Ohio, that would open a one year window for suing the Catholic church. In effect, for one year (365 days), the bill would lift the statute of limitations to victims seeking legal recourse, for sexual crimes committed by the Catholic clergy, for incidents going back as far as 35 years ago. (Where do they come up with these arbitrary numbers?) Scratches head, keeps typing…scratches again..

In a written statement for a news conference in support of this bill was the “bomb”! The Bishop had himself been molested by a priest when he was in the 9th grade of seminary (Priest’s Jr. High School). He did not disclose the priest’s identity, who has been dead for 10 years. He believes that he is in Heaven praying for him. He is purportedly very hurt over revealing long hidden secret, but feels that he must do more to help the victims of sexual abuse at the hands of Catholic priests.

The Bishop appears to be influenced heavily, and supported by one “Barbara Blaine, founder of the Chicago-based Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests”. (or SNAP!) Read the full story following the link provided above, and you’ll see how she is almost portrayed as a spokesperson for the Bishop, describing his itinerary and other inside scuttlebutt. Why isn’t there an Ohio Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests (”SNAP”), and what are the Chicagoans doing in the Ohio legislature with a Detroit MI Bishop?? The Ohioans need to get busy eh? Poor form for the Buckeye Survivors, eh?

Bishops are reportedly lobbying heavily against raising time limits for legal actions of this nature. I wonder how the Bishops justify their position, maybe good fodder for another post. And how do they exert influence over our legislators? Well, just so you know, the Detroit diocese, where this whistle blowing Bishop co-presides, has about 1.5 million members!! Yup, one and one half million! That’s a lot of votes to carry in your hip pocket. Probably why they wear those flowing robes. (Sorry, couldn’t resist)

UHH UHHMM, what about for anyone Bishop? How about lobbying for any victim of sexual abuse to have recourse to legal action. Why not extend this window to everyone? My personal opinion aside, it seems silly “not” to be extended to anyone, be they Catholic or Protestant. I believe that taking celibacy vows, and forbidding marriage to priests, swings the pendulum of doubt in their direction, compared to other Christian organizations. These vows seem to appeal to men who are gay, or are on the fence maybe. For Catholic heterosexual clergymen, this needs to be addressed, the Bible’s teachings were not to compel people to mandatory celibacy, but rather that all believers are God’s ambassadors. It’s time for the Catholic leadership to step up and fix this doctrine of their faith, or is it just me…hmmmm?

When Vicious Dogs Attack

This is a “pet” peeve of mine, check out this page detailing two dog attacks in neighboring towns. For you who don’t have the time: these were fatal attacks. The first one was an 82 yr. old woman killed by a pack of Pit Bulls. Her neighbor is facing involuntary manslaughter charges in connection with the fatal attack. Officials say she had been warned about her dogs being “dangerous and at large”.

In a neighboring town, a 4 year old toddler was brutally killed by a German Shepherd – Rottweiler mix breed. It seems that the child was outside and near the “chained dog’s space” a small enclosure. the Mom had just walked into the house, and seconds later, the child was dead – his small neck was broken. It is said that the family of the dead child took care of their dog, kept his shots up to par, had his own fenced enclosure, and “his own trailer” in the back yard. (Why am I not shocked?) Authorities ruled this as a horrible accident, a tragedy, and that no legal charges would be filed.

All you have to do to see what idiots some pet owners are, is to watch “Animal Planet’s” series, “Animal Precinct”. I think that people who want to register and own Rottweilers and Pit Bulls, be at least “tested” as arduously as an employee at a Day Care Center. Or, be able to count how many teeth are in their mouth correctly.

These dogs serve no purpose to a couple raising children. In the case of the Pit Bull attack, the offending neighbor will face a trial on very serious charges that could carry harsh sentencing. And people get upset with me when I recommend a powerful stun baton or a very high concentrated pepper spray for use on hostile animals?

Assault

I share a lot of self defense tips in my posts. I also do a lot of products reviews of self defense products. The words “assault, assailant, attacker” are tossed around quite a bit. Before you use your new self defense product on a pushy, unwanted person, it would be good for you to understand just what the law considers assault. Normally, I would have launched into a multi-page paraphrase of some generic assault descriptions. Since there’s no possible way I could ever do justice to the legal descriptions, I’d like to provide you with a couple of links to allow you the opportunity to read the descriptions yourself and thereby gain a better understanding of when an assault is, or has occurred, and what you should or shouldn’t do about it.

From the ‘Lectric Law Library, you can get a great overview. For those of you who like a lot of detail, take a look at the U.S. Department of Justice. There’s your tax dollars at work! Wow, they really break it down don’t they? You’ll find it broken down by race, gender, location, distance from home and more! It’s really worth a read.
