Arab Company to Manage U.S. Ports
2006
Is it just me, or is something fatally flawed when our country allows a country with citizens who have participated in terrorist activities against us to manage our ports? Well, it’s not just me, both parties in congress have spoken against this. In my more than usual amt. of research, I still can’t figure out how this one was allowed or who wielded the final authority to close such a rank deal!
A Dubai-based company is buying the former British company that managed the six ports in question – way to go boys – you can always depend on our ally the UK to screw the pooch and leave the mess behind them as they roll over – belly up and stick us with a load of Arabs in charge. The U.K. makes my blood boil. In every way anymore they are a disintegrating society and best left to their own sad but certain demise. It is in our interest to have them “on board” and on the team in that area of the globe to further and assist our interests – but c’mon give me a break here – let them continue to slide into the ooze of anonymity that they so richly deserve!
The reason for this furor is that Arab management of the ports could lead to a terrorist attack. Of course it may not happen immediately, but rest assured that they’re already licking their chops!
This logic is at best flawed, and at worst insanity. Check out this news blurb:
“The real objection to the deal is that the company is owned and run by Arabs. This racist thinking ignores the fact that DPW is a reputable business operating ports in countries around the world, including Germany and Australia, and soon, the U.K. By inking deals with DPW, these countries did not hand over their security to the U.A.E. Likewise, no matter who is managing U.S. ports, American authorities will be the guardians of U.S. security. Customs officers will still inspect cargoes, the Coast Guard will still patrol and protect the harbors, the Transportation Security Agency will still do background checks of port employees, and the Department of Homeland Security will still oversee port security efforts.

This is a shortsighted, “politically correct” argument that reminds me of the guy who thought he could live with and be one of the Grizzly bears and naturally ended up eaten alive by the enemy, it was inevitable. The Arabs being up to no good is their S.O.P. and it’s inevitable that they will use this to cause us harm in some way.
“The criticism of the deal is not based on facts, but on politics, with an eye toward November elections.” Well they can print or say what they will in defense of this attempted move, but they’ll never convince most Americans to trust matters of our security – such as management of Ports – to our enemies, the Arab countries!
