The first couple of sentences in this article are ludicrous. Self defense training does in absolutely no way guarantee a woman any more of a chance of actually being able to defend herself from a rape. I have taken many such classes, but this is the truth. Walking around with a gun or mace in your hand every minute of your life is not an option – and that’s what it would take for these weapons to actually protect you from rape. Rapist take their victims OFF GUARD, you see – otherwise they could run away, and this wouldn’t be an issue.

The problem is that rape is not about putting penis in vagina, it’s about using a mix of sex and violence to degrade someone. I think if enough women use this, anal and oral rape will just increase instead. There’s also most likely an increased risk of the assailant severely beating or killing the victim.

I’m all for the “Rapex” however.. there will be some malicious acts by scorned women.. for that I am sure. I happened to blog about this today before finding this thread.

Seems to me that any woman that hated a man (like an ex, etc) could lure them, get them *trapped*, report it as a rape and wa-la…the man is pretty much in trouble even if he didn’t DO anything…..

I like the idea of it, but NOT the way it could be used.

more severe measures need to be taken to discourage this type of

I think these devices are needed in some situations, or just at a persons discreation, but they had better be a discreationary person.
Since they have been around for a few years I’m avidly awaiting a story about some attacker getting his noodle mauled by one of these things. filed under “must see” of course
of course then Ill await the news on the trial when he sues.

FINALLY, something women could rely on when nature doesn’t give them brute force potential like males.

If justice was really served in this world, the man would lose his penis in front of as many people who wanted to watch, but this is the next best thing. It’s perfect and everyone who’s against this deserves a good raping themselves because they’ve got NO clue what they’re talking about.

Anyone afraid spiteful women would use this just to hurt a guy- stay away from vagina’s you’re not familar with and don’t trust 100%. Common sense is fleeing this world quicker than justice ever did.

Regarding the misuse of the condom by women, how often do you have consensual sex without any kind of foreplay. Maybe you shouldn’t just dive in.

@Nelly: Ok, first off you’re an asshole.

But more to the point, that leaves me with a question, what happens if the rapist is smarter, checks, then does that.

However, I am all for this! I was almost raped when I was 12, if my friend’s mother hadn’t pulled up I would’ve been raped. There were times my boyfriend at the time would hold me down & force me have sex with even if I was screaming no & begging him to stop.

I wish we had something like this back then & I wish I would’ve had access to it. Someone on here said something about rape leaving scars for even 10 years after the incident. It’s completely true it’s been about 8 years since all this happened to me, and I still haven’t “recovered” from it. Once something so special has been taken from you it’s hard to get back to a “normal” life.

I think this is a great idea, even if it helps just one girl out there somewhere & stops her from going through what I had to go through so young I’ll believe that it was a success.
